The Association of Latin American Law Students’ (ALALS) general aim is to organize
the Latin American law students of Rutgers by developing a coherent, organized effort
to advance the interests of said students, preserve and promote the Latin American
culture, promote legal careers among the community, inform students about the
issues and concerns of the Latin American population in the United States and abroad,
as well as foster unity will all other minority student organization, the Minority
Student Program (MSP), and both the National Hispanic Bar Association and the
Hispanic Bar Association - New Jersey.

The Rutgers Law School—Newark Federalist Society is a student organization
organized in accordance with the regulations of Rutgers Law School. The purpose of
the Society is to foster critical thought and debate about the application of
conservative and libertarian ideas to the law. The Society embraces the principles
that the state exists to preserve freedom, that the separation of powers is central to
the Constitution of the United States of America, and that it is emphatically the
province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be.

The Health Law Society's(“HLS”) mission is to raise the visibility of health law issues at Rutgers School of Law – Newark and to expose its members and the law school community to current issues in health law from the perspectives of scholars, attorneys, physicians, and other professionals. The International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP) is a global legal aid and advocacy organization working to create a world where refugees and all people seeking safety are empowered to claim their right to freedom of movement and a path to lasting refuge.

Since its founding in 2008, IRAP has provided free legal aid to over 40,000 displaced people from over 100 different countries and has trained over 6,000 law students and lawyers in the process. Rutgers School of Law is one of IRAP’s 26 student chapters across the United States and Canada.

Mission of the Moot Court Board

The Moot Court Board is dedicated to fostering excellence in oral and written advocacy at Rutgers Law School. Our mission is to provide students with opportunities to develop and refine their advocacy skills through workshops, competitions, and mentorship. We aim to:

Train and Educate: Offer practical training in appellate advocacy, trial advocacy, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution that complements the law school curriculum.

Host Competitions: Organize and administer the intramural Negotiation Competition, providing students with experiential opportunities to practice client-centered problem-solving.

Support Major Events: Assist in the administration of the Cohn and Baker competitions by handling logistics and facilitating smooth operations.

Promote Professionalism: Instill the values of ethical advocacy, preparation, and respect for the judicial process.

Support and Mentor: Guide students in their development as advocates by providing feedback, resources, and mentorship opportunities. Create a collaborative and inclusive environment that encourages peer learning, leadership, and lifelong connections.

Through these efforts, the Moot Court Board prepares its members to excel as advocates and leaders in the legal profession.
